Just wanted to let you know what a truly outstanding resource
you have created. I started playing guitar almost thirty
years ago, did the garage band thing in high school and the
acoustic-duo thing in college, but have been only an occaisonal
player for the past 20 years. I decided recently to get
back to it, had my old Gibson 154 reworked, and was lucky enough
to stumble upon your sight after a general "guitar chords"
search in Dogpile. I've learned much more than I'd forgotten,
strictly as a result of your pages as well as following your
links. Just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work and
dedication in putting together a great site.

This was the very first site I went to when I got on the net. I typed in "Acoustic Guitar" on my search engine and this site was listed with a 100% rating. That was a few moons back. I just took possesion of a fantastic Collings OM-3. What I learned here helped me make my decision. Martin eat your heart out. I had an OM-28 Perry Bechtel but after playing this Collings my beloved Martin seemed crude by comparison. I visit this site once or twice a week. Please never go away!!

I've already bookmarked three of your sites after my first half hour of finding Guitarnotes. Jason Nieh, you are a genius! This is the best-done website I've ever seen. It's usually so frustrating to travel around in a circle, trying to connect to something that should be just one more click away. Your site is awesome, man. I've got a three-year-old Takamine electric-acoustic; a 1940 Harmony f-hole guitar that was painted floral-psychedelic in 1966 by Tom Stopher, my brother the artist; a Teisco del Rey electric guitar with four (!) pickups, probably made around 1969 or '70; a Cortley 12-string, Japanese copy of a Martin, burned in a fire--it was in really bad shape, top warped up and bridge pulling loose--repaired and improved by Pine Hodge of Santa Barbara, CA, for $50 (the repairman at Heart o' Texas Music told me he would have to charge me at least $200 and the guitar wasn't worth that), great repair work, now it stays in tune, has wonderful rich yet tinkly sound, and it's one of those guitars that creates songs, it's worth $3,000 to me and not for sale; AND a little Sears (?) flattop with black painted scrollwork, probably from the '30s, that is in Santa Barbara while Pine awaits the money I owe him for working on the Harmony. From an unplayable work of art, he transformed it into a musical instrument again. This time for $80. Hey, Pine, I'm getting a raise in October. Just hang in there, buddy! Thanks again, Jason, for the valuable resources page. Wali
p.s. My apologies for the verbosity!

Its about time that some came along that was as cool and smart as you. This is the only page that I ever found that acutually carry every thing about guitars that I need and want there sould be more people like you and less people putting crap on the net that doesn't belong. I'm sick and tired of the half done pages and its nice to see a page that is fially complete. I have a couple of request for tabs. I want the solo for MR. Record Man - Ugly Kid Joe, Candlebox - Cover Me (it was in a guitar mag a couple of years back but I can't find it anywhere) and I want the tab for Good Mourning/Black Friday - Megadeth. I Have a really awesome Fender Stratocaster that sounds great. With certain adjustments to my amp I can make it sound just like the guitars from Marilyn Manson. I can't find and tabs for Manson though. I have 5 Metallica books and I can play "One" and "Master of Puppets" very well. I need the tabs for Manson's "Sweet Dreams." I alos play a little Black Sabbath.

Great page.....keep up the good work.

I'm looking for any available information on Flying Finn guitars. I saw Roomful of Blues recently. Theur guitar player had a couple of the coolest custom made guitars I have ever seen. I bought their CD a couple of days ago. In the liner notes it says that the guitarist uses "Flying Finn" guitars exclusively.....I assume these are the guitars I saw when I caught their act. Have you heard of "Flying Finn?" Any idea how i might get in touch with them? Thanks.

Great site for guitar. I play an unknown brand acoustic
that I found in a shop for 80 bucks, the crazy thing is
that it sounds better than anything I've ever played- a
blessing. Oh, yeah, and a thin-line hollow piece of garbage
that hates me almost as much as I hate it, but I don't worry,
cos someday it will be replaced by a Gretsch Nashville and a
White Falcon. Anyone with anything relating to old-time
country, bluegrass, and rockabilly drop me a line

First & foremost, this is the best site I've ever seen. You
have links & info for everything a guitarist could want.
Second, I need help locating a dear friend who I lost contact
with in 1987. His name is Jeff Herman. He is a guitarist
and songwriter like myself. He has a wife named Claire, was
in the Army (we met in Hawaii), was last seen in Nora Springs,
Iowa. Anyone who knows Jeff or where he might be, please
e-mail me at ourfam.ckt.net. I would be forever gratefull.
Rock on!

I have been enjoying Guitar Notes for over a year now. Whenever I need some inspiration to study, and I'm getting frustrated with my poor technique, I just pop into Guitar Notes and hit a few links, and try something new. I even purloined a pic of my Hamer Mirage from the Kaman Music site, and then e-mailed it around to show my family my baby. Keep up the excellent work!!

I read a query from a woman name Judy Letostak on the
concepts of leaning Modes in your "Guitar Instruction: Scale
& Soloing Ideas" page in this section. I would like to down
load some ideas that I have on this subject into your
"Guitar Notes" section however, I don't have a clue how
to do this.

If anyone out there knows how to do down load onto the
"Guitar Notes," please E-Mail me at papaya@pixi.com. I'm
sure what I have to share will prove for interesting reading.

This is going on my favorite places. Great site. I am in the middle of creating my own web site with a friend. I intend to put a load of guitar advice on it, along with this and PRS's site on it. PRS guitars are far superior to anything I have ever played, seen, or heard. I want a PRS custom 22. Can you help me? No birds. No curly maple top. PRS is the bomb. SWEET SITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! E-mail me about info on the aforementioned guitar. Visit PRS at www.PRSguitars.com

I wish all I had to contend with was 6 strings. Try playing
with both hands, both knees and both feet at the same time.
Be a man! Strap on a pedal steel! Don't even get me started
on bass players. And one more thing. Check the intonation on
that 6 string piece of firewood before you start yelling at
me about my tuning. Oh yeah, no callouses either!
Have a nice day. :)

Have you guys ever heard of "The Heritage" Guitar ?
They're made by hand at the original Gibson plant in Kalamazoo.
By the same craftsmen that once made "Gibson" an American icon
I just bought one and I love it ! These guitars blow gibson
away ! I tried 8 different gibson les pauls...
not one of them would stay in tune long enough for me to
strum three open chords in a row. Not to mention, the
intonation on every gibson that I tried was not set properly.
The rosewood fingerboards on the gibson les pauls looked &
felt dried-out. The hardware felt chinsey. I shopped several
stores and was very disappointed that I couldn't find one
decent gibson les paul to buy. From the studio through the
custom models, it didn't matter, they were all horrible.
Luckily, I was introduced to "The Heritage" I fell
in love with & bought the first one I played. It was perfect
from right-off the rack ! Anyway, I didn't write specifically
to slam gibson, but I gotta say, they should have stayed in
Kalamazoo!
PS. My Heritage is a Gold-top Model H150P and the phone #
for Heritage Guitars is: 616-385-5721.

Great Site! A great way to meet fellow guitarists from all over the world. I have been playing for 21 years now (since I was 8). This instrument provides me with a means of expressing myself. I can make it sing, cry, scream or moan. The best therapy I've found! I've got an Ibanez Musician, 6 string electric, built about 20 years ago. Can anybody tell me what it might be worth? I'd love to hear from you. Break down the barriers, we're all here to help each other get to the next level. This sermon's over!

HELLO!!! I am looking for goths in the seattle area to form a band. I need a bass, drums, and rythym guitarist. I will be playing 23 various instruments, vocals, lead guitar, and synthesizers. This band needs to be formed SOON!!! I want people with 6 years or MORE experience on their instrument. I want people with heavy influences of ministry, christian death, rozz williams, gitane demone, tool, switchblade symphony, mephisto walz, etc. I like an industrial noise backing up poetry, or just plain old school goth. So, anybody who's interested--PLEASE email me!!! I know there are goths out there in Seattle, or the front page of the Seattle Times wouldn't have GOTH written all over it!!!!! This band does not have to be 21+. Just be over 16!!!

piece of music. Great site!!! Spent way too much time here!
