Albert Lee Type Licks
by Christopher Sung

Again, it's all about the chord changes. We repeat the G-G# hammers that imply E major in measure 1 and measure 7. There a short bend at the end of measure 1 that launches the chromatic ascent up to the high B in measure 2, and this line sets us up perfectly for the A7 in measure 3. Double stops with the open E string are used in measure 5 with the same kind of 3 on 4 feel used in page 1. Note how we play the D# in measure 6 because our chord is B7, before finishing with a bluesy run to end the lick.
