Diminished Licks Over an E7 Groove

Because the diminished scale is symmetric, it's great for repeating motifs that ascend or descend. By symmetric, I mean that the scale actually repeats itself every three notes. What this means is that an E diminished scale has the exact same notes as an F# diminished scale, an A# diminished scale, and a C# diminished scale. In this case, we start an ascending repeating pattern in measure 2, and don't finish until the start of measure 4...
