I got to this site from the Gurian Guitars site. I've owned a 1979 Gurian S3R3H since new in 1980. It's a size 3, Rosewood, 3-piece back, with herringbone binding. I had custom abalone inlays added by Larry Sifel--the fingerboard pattern is a modified Whyte Ladye #7, there's a script "Caryl P. Weiss" nameplate around the 15th fret or so, and on the headstock is a green abalone alligator and "Gurian" name. I love this guitar--out of the 31 or so guitars that I've owned over the years, this is the best recording instrument. It's so evenly balanced, and sustains forever! I keep it strung with extra-light D'Addarios, and have the action a hair's breadth from the fingerboard, courtesy of Jake at Troubadour Music (currently in Wayne, Pennsylvania). My Gurian is also equipped with a DiMarzio soundhole pickup and an underbridge pickup (which is way too thin-sounding for most applications; the soundhold pickup gives a much more natural sound). The instrument came with gold Schaller tuners with black buttons. The folks at Ovation were nice enough to give me a set of replacement pearloid buttons. This instrument looks as good as it sounds; a real high-class guitar. --Caryl P. Weiss

Hello everyone . I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I have a loving desire to find a Luthier School to attend as an apprenticeship . But I live in the State of Illinois and either I'm looking in the wrong places or there is none . My first choice would be the State of Illinois , then Indiana or Kentuckey or Nashville , Tnn since it is the Music capital of the World . Can anyone help me please . I eventually want to open my own crafting shop and studio to make wonderfull ax's and customize . Also whit the above question I'm also in need of a school that has student aid . I found a private school in Big Rapids , Mi but thats to far to drive and he offeres no student aid , any info would be wonderfull . Thank's , Brian Siscoe Sr .

I've been playing guitar for...oh about 6 or 7 years now and never konwn the proper fashion to tune a guitar. I've always broken at least one string and had to replace it with an old one. I got the information on how to string a guitar from your site this time though and it worked marvelously. I can not ever thank you enough for teaching me this method which i'll surely use throughout the rest of my life. That page was a great service to me and all my gratitude to you for making it!

Due to the overwhelming demand for the album "Axxe to Grind",
, the fact that it is being counterfeited so widely, and the fact that I haven't been paid
on the sale of these CD's, I have decided to put the album
up for free. You can listen to and download free mp3's of the album at:
http:/www.mp3.com/JimmyPackes. You can also preview some of
my other work including some new music from my latest album,
"SEVEN".
If you would like a copy of the CD pleae email me at azimuthjag@yahoo.com.
_Please do not support the counterfeiting of independent artists.

Thanks

I just wanted to thank you for putting this site together. It has helped me and a bunch of my friends out a great deal! When I first started playing guitar I stumbled onto it and I am so thankful I did. The tab links helped teach me a considerable amount, as well as the chord charts. Keep up the awesome work!!!

Hi there! I have a Dixon classical guitar model # RG-820 that I am trying to find more information about. Can anyone tell me how to contact Dixon and how old this guitar might be. Thanks!
