In this last example, we have a James Brown type of comping pattern going. At the end of measure 3, we throw in a little syncopated blues lick. After we repeat our main rhythm thang in mms. 5-6, we use the same fill to play a longer descending blues lick till we finish on the low D on the last beat of measure 8.
