Add A Site Help
When submitting a website for inclusion at Guitar Notes, keep in mind
the following guidelines regarding each of the fields to ensure that
the website is properly indexed and displayed:
- title is the title of the website. Please keep the title
brief, as titles that are too long are simply truncated when they are
displayed. If length is a problem, try removing extra words like
"website" or "homepage". Titles that attempt to include advertising
lingo will automatically flagged for future editing, which will just
delay the process of having the website listed in the index.
- sort key is used to sort the websites in alphabetical
order. The sort key should usually be the first word in the title of
the website, except in two cases. If the website is for an
individual, the sort key should be the last name of the individual.
For example, the sort key for "Eric Clapton" should be "Clapton". If
the website title begins with "A", "An", or "The", the sort key should
be the second word in the title. The sort key is only used for
alphabetical ordering and is not used for categorizing a website.
Sort keys that are not filled in as described here will be
automatically flagged for future editing, which will just delay the
process of having the website listed in the index.
- description is a description of the website. Only the
first 100 characters of the description are indexed, so we suggest you
keep your descriptions brief. Avoid extra words like "greatest guitar
store" or "best guitar tab site". For example, a better description
for a guitar store would be to include some of the key brands of
equipment that the store carries. The descriptions are not displayed
in the main index, but are instead used to guide searches of the index.
- category is the category in which you would like your website
to be listed. The category must match the content of the website.
Categories that do not match the content of the website will be
automatically flagged for future editing, which will just delay the
process of having the website listed in the index.
- address, city, state, country, and zip fields are used to
help users find the geographic location of the individual or company
that is described in the website.
- phone number is used to allow users to contact the
individual or company that is described in the website.
